Accordingly, in order to improve the relationship between adult children and their old parents, we need to make political interventions for reducing old parents¡¯ physical, economic and social dependency on their adult children, and develop practical intervention strategies and social support systems for promoting desirable parent?child relationship from childhood and for maintaining and enhancing filial obligation deeply rooted in Korean people¡¯s value system.
